Art. 3: metes-and-bounds parts of 20 comuni in the province of Catania forming a horseshoe on the volcano's E/N/S flanks. Geometry = comune-union of the 20 CONTAINING comuni (openpolis WGS84, 116.149 ha), a documented over-approximation; the DOC covers only the volcanic vineyard belt (named contrade) within them. Etna Bianco Superiore = the Milo subzone.

Art. 2: Etna Bianco = Carricante ≥60% + Catarratto 0-40% (+ up to 15% Trebbiano/Minnella bianca/altri). Etna Rosso and Rosato = Nerello Mascalese ≥80% + Nerello Cappuccio (Mantellato) 0-20%. Etna Bianco Superiore is reserved to grapes from the comune of Milo. A metes-and-bounds horseshoe of vineyards around the volcano.
