History
Marco de Grazia, long an exporter and champion of Italian wine, made his first Etna vintage in 2002 and helped lead the volcano's modern renaissance, vinifying its contrade separately like Burgundian crus from the outset. Tenuta delle Terre Nere, on Etna's north slope, became a reference for site-driven Nerello Mascalese.
