Art. 3: a very large zone across the provinces of Imperia, Savona and (marginally) Genova — the whole/part of most western-Ligurian wine comuni, with several sottozone. Geometry = the union of the Imperia (IM) + Savona (SV) province polygons as a documented western-Liguria envelope (WGS84, 270.184 ha); the DOC does not cover every hectare of both provinces (over-approximation) and a small Genova portion is omitted.

GrapesVermentino · Pigato · Rossese
  • VermentinoA leading white varietal of the western Riviera.
  • PigatoThe distinctive western-Ligurian white.
  • RosseseA red varietal of the umbrella.

Art. 2: the broad western-Liguria umbrella covers varietal wines built on the region's grapes — Vermentino, Pigato, Rossese, Ormeasco (Dolcetto), plus Granaccia and Moscato — with named sottozone/sottodenominazioni (Riviera dei Fiori, Albenganese/Albenga, Finalese, Quiliano [Granaccia], Taggia [Moscatello]).

Viticulture

Art. 4: yields/altitude per typology; steep terraced coastal viticulture; not transcribed as scalar.
