History

Còlpetrone invested in the Montefalco hills at the end of the 1980s, when few had grasped Sagrantino's potential, with its first vintages made at the old farmhouse now called 'Old Còlpetrone.' The current winery was built in 1995 (inaugurated 2005) as part of the Tenute del Cerro group; today it is the largest private producer of Montefalco Sagrantino, with several cru bottlings.
