History
Petra was founded in 1997 by Vittorio Moretti and his daughter Francesca, of the Terra Moretti group, on the coast at Suvereto. Its landmark gravity-flow cellar, designed by Mario Botta and built into the hillside in 2001-03, became an icon of wine architecture; the flagship Petra, a Cabernet-Merlot blend, is a benchmark of coastal Tuscan Bordeaux blends.
