History
The Mannelli family founded Podere Il Sassolo in 1972, restoring an old farmhouse dating to the era of the Medici Granducato and building a modern cellar on the property.
New vineyards were planted in the natural basin of Santa Cristina a Mezzana, one of Carmignano's historic crus, producing wines led by a Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend.
