History
Boccadigabbia was one of the 'hundred poderi' of the Bonaparte administration at Civitanova, passing to Eugène de Beauharnais and later Napoleon III; the Alessandri family bought it in 1956 from the last Bonaparte claimant. From 1986 it replanted to international varieties, and its Cabernet Akronte, named for a local stream, is a distinctive Marche red.
