History
Zeni's history begins in 1870 with Bartolomeo Zeni, a painter and carter who carried food and wine to the villages around Lake Garda; his son Gaetano became a wine broker.
The business passed to the brothers Faustino and Ernesto — Faustino in the vineyards, Ernesto in the small cellar at Borgo Garibaldi in the centre of Bardolino — and Nino Zeni later founded the estate's renowned Wine Museum in the 1950s.
Now led by the fifth generation, Fausto, Elena and Federica, Zeni works from Bardolino and a second cellar at Fumane in Valpolicella, making Bardolino, Valpolicella, Amarone and Lugana.
