History
Tenuta J. Hofstätter is the reference for Alto Adige Pinot Nero. Founded in 1907 at Termeno, it farms both sides of the valley, and Paolo Foradori introduced Italy's first single-vineyard (Vigna) designation in 1987 with the Barthenau Vigna S. Urbano Pinot Nero, regarded as one of the country's finest. Its Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer, from the grape's home village of Tramin, is equally celebrated.
