History
Castello di Ama is a leading name of modern Chianti Classico and a pioneer of the Gran Selezione category. Restored from 1976, it became famous under Marco Pallanti for its single-estate San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and for l'Apparita, a Merlot from a tiny parcel that became one of Italy's most admired reds. The estate is also known for integrating contemporary art among its cellars and vines.
