History
Ancestor Nicola Petrera chose the airy Spinomarino hill for Primitivo in the late 19th century; the family have made wine at Gioia del Colle ever since.
In 1987 they released the first 'Fatalone', the first single-varietal Gioia del Colle DOC Primitivo; the name a nickname of Filippo Petrera ('the lady-killer').
Pasquale Petrera, fifth generation, certified the vineyards organic in 2000 and made the winery fully solar-powered.
