Pecorino di Carmasciano

A sheep cheese from Carmasciano, a grazing area of roughly four kilometres' radius in the Ansanto valley of upper Irpinia. The pastures run down the south-facing slope from Monte Forcuso between 800 and 500 m, ground Virgil describes in the Aeneid.
