History
The Caves Coopératives de Donnas was founded in 1971 to save the heroic terraced viticulture at Donnas, where the Valle d'Aosta meets Piedmont.
It is the keeper of the Donnas sub-appellation, a Nebbiolo (Picotendro, at least 85 percent) grown on dry-stone terraces and often called an Alpine cousin of Barolo.
