History

Petrolo has belonged to the Bazzocchi-Sanjust family since the 1940s; Lucia Bazzocchi Sanjust took charge in the mid-1980s, with the late Giulio Gambelli consulting on the 1988 Torrione, and her son Luca Sanjust now leads. In the Valdarno di Sopra, Petrolo is renowned for Galatrona, a Merlot 'grand cru', and for old-vine Sangiovese Bòggina.
