History
Il Borro, a fortified medieval village that passed through the Medici, Hohenlohe and Savoy families, was bought by Ferruccio Ferragamo in 1993 from Duke Amedeo of Aosta.
The winemaking project began in 1995 with soil studies; the estate has been certified organic since 2015.
It sits in the Valdarno di Sopra, whose zone was first delimited by a 1716 edict of Cosimo III de' Medici (DOC from 2011).
