Trebbiano Giallo

A genuinely distinct MASAF-registered member of the wide Trebbiano family (scheda 240), its official description based on a clone from the ampelographic collection of the Cantina Sperimentale of Velletri (province of Rome), cross-checked against material from other Lazio growing areas and Perugia's Faculty of Agriculture collection — separately registered from, and not a synonym of, Trebbiano Toscano (scheda 244) or Trebbiano Romagnolo (scheda 242), both already profiled in this dataset. Medium-to-large, cylindro-conical, sometimes winged clusters; downy, greenish-white shoot tips edged in red. Named for the yellow ("giallo") autumn color of its foliage and, secondarily, its more golden berry hue compared to the paler Trebbiano Toscano.

One of four varieties (with Trebbiano Romagnolo, Trebbiano Toscano, and Trebbiano di Soave) required to make up a minimum 85% of the generic "Trebbiano" designation in Provincia di Mantova and Sabbioneta IGT.
