History
Caneva da Nani is a tiny Canello-family estate at Guia di Valdobbiadene, in the steep heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills; the family has grown grapes here for five generations and bottled officially since 1971.
It is run today by Massimo Canello with his father Giovanni - nicknamed 'Nani', hence the name ('caneva' is Venetian for a shady spot to drink wine) - across about six hectares farmed organically.
Best known for its 'Vin Col Fondo' - a cloudy, bottle-refermented Glera left on its lees and sediment - alongside its Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
