History
Named for a castle first recorded in a 1292 cadastre as property of the Montemarte family, Castello di Corbara was refounded as a modern estate in 1997 by Fernando Patrizi near Orvieto.
Its roughly 100 hectares, on fossil-rich marine-sedimentary soils above the Tiber, produce around 200,000 bottles a year across the Lago di Corbara and Orvieto Classico denominations, from Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Grechetto and international varieties.
