History
A medieval watchtower enlarged into a bishops' summer residence, Selvapiana was bought by the Florentine banker Michele Giuntini in 1827; the family has owned it ever since.
Francesco Giuntini inherited in 1953 and, with consultant Franco Bernabei from 1978, released the first Chianti Rufina Riserva 'Vigneto Bucerchiale' in 1979.
Since 1997 it is run by Federico and Silvia Giuntini, adopted sons of the estate manager Franco Masseti.
