History
Poggio Stenti is a family mixed farm at Montenero d'Orcia (comune of Castel del Piano), in the Montecucco hills of southern Tuscany between Monte Amiata and the Maremma.
It is now run by Eleonora Pieri, a winemaker still in her twenties, while her father Carlo keeps the family's historic butcher shop at Sant'Angelo Scalo a few kilometres away.
Alongside cattle, pigs, olives, cereals and even saffron, the estate farms just over five hectares of clay-rich vineyard entirely organically, planted mainly to Sangiovese and Vermentino.
