History
Montenidoli is one of San Gimignano's most revered estates. Elisabetta Fagiuoli and her late husband replanted the abandoned property, mentioned in a 1404 will and once worked by Etruscans and Romans, from 1965, making their first wine in 1971. Her celebrated range of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, developed from 1984 once she understood the estate's limestone soils, comes in three versions, all pure Vernaccia; in 2015 FIVI named her 'Vigneronne d'Italia' for her role in elevating the appellation.
