History

Lisini is one of Montalcino's oldest estates, its family present at Sant'Angelo in Colle since the 16th century and its historic tower older still. Growing Sangiovese here since the 1930s, well before the Brunello boom, Lisini was a founding member of the consortium in 1967, and Elina Lisini was its first female president. The single-vineyard Ugolaia, launched in 1990 with the guidance of the great Giulio Gambelli, is its jewel.
