History
Tenute Girolamo was born in 2001 when Michele Girolamo returned to Martina Franca, in Puglia's Valle d'Itria, to make wine; the family planted some forty hectares of vineyard in 2004 and 2005 and built the estate around quality over quantity.
Now run by Michele's son Piero, the winery farms both native Apulian grapes — Primitivo, Negroamaro, Aglianico and Verdeca — and international varieties, making around 400,000 bottles a year with more than forty per cent going to export.
