History
The Montanaro family of Massafra restored the fifteenth-century Masseria Amastuola from 2003, and from 2007 made wine from its organic estate on the Ionian hills of Taranto.
Its wave-shaped 'garden vineyard', designed by the philosopher-gardener Fernando Caruncho, sits in the Colline Joniche Tarantine, a young Taranto DOC of which the estate is a maker.
