History
A geologist by training, Fabio Gea returned to Neive in 2010 to take over the small, half-abandoned parcels his grandfather Notu had tended high in the Barbaresco hills.
He works barely 1.8 hectares - Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera - co-planted with fruit trees, carrying a massal selection of nearly fifteen types of Nebbiolo saved from the old vines.
Farming uses only small amounts of copper and sulphur with plant-based treatments, and the tiny production of idiosyncratic, natural Barbaresco and Langhe wines has become cult.
