History
La Castellada takes its name from an Oslavia hill; Giuseppe Bensa bought the first plots in 1954, and his sons Giorgio and Nicolò began estate bottling in 1985. Part of the Gravner circle that revived long skin-maceration in Oslavia in the late 1990s, La Castellada macerates its Ribolla Gialla for around sixty days, making benchmark Collio orange wines; the third Bensa generation joined in 2009.
