History
Colmello di Grotta was established in 1965 when Luciana Bennati took over a property previously owned by the Strassoldo family, initially producing wine exclusively for the cellar of Venice's Hotel Bauer under the same ownership group.
The estate is now guided by Luciana's daughter Francesca Bortolotto and granddaughter Olimpia Possati, who continue organic farming across the single vineyard plot straddling the Isonzo and Collio denominations.
