Perera

White grapeVeneto, Italy (Valdobbiadene area, fractions of Santo Stefano and San Pietro di Barbozza)
← Grapes

An autochthonous white grape of the Valdobbiadene hills, concentrated in the fractions of Santo Stefano and San Pietro di Barbozza, where hilly, mineral-rich terrain and a mild climate suit it best. It takes its name from the pear ("pera") note in its aromatic profile.

Grown as one of the complementary varieties permitted for up to 15% of the blend alongside Glera in Prosecco DOC, Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG and Colli Asolani-Prosecco/Asolo DOCG. Wines are straw yellow with golden reflections, intensely fruity, with pear, white flowers, Mediterranean herbs and alfalfa on the nose, and spiced, aromatic notes in the finest examples.
