History
Pedecastello is the small mountain project of Alex Della Vecchia, who planted about two hectares of vines in 2010 in Castion, a hamlet of Belluno, on land named for the road Via Pedecastello that runs through the vineyards and gardens there.
Alongside a plot of Pinot Nero, Della Vecchia grows native varieties rarely seen this far north, including Pavana, Trevisana Nera and Bianchetta Trevigiana, farmed organically and vinified with only indigenous yeasts, no added sulphites, and no fining or filtration.
