Sergio Fortin and Roberto Dalla Libera founded Il Mottolo in 2003 on eleven hectares in the southern Colli Euganei at Baone.

Named for the limestone motoli of the hills, it makes low-yield Colli Euganei reds such as Serro and Vigna Mare.
