History
Cantina San Michele Appiano was founded as a cooperative in 1907 to raise quality among local growers. Since 1977 cellarmaster Hans Terzer has led it to the top of Italian wine; its premium Sanct Valentin line, especially Sauvignon and Pinot Bianco, is a benchmark, and Gambero Rosso has named it Winery of the Year.
