History
Winemaking on the site dates to 1850, when the Cembran family began producing wine on the banks of the Avisio stream at Lavis; the cooperative itself was formally founded in 1948 by 14 growers from Lavis, Giovo and Meano.
La Vis expanded through mergers, including the 1969 union with the South Tyrolean cooperative of Salorno and the 2003 merger with the Val di Cembra mountain cooperative; in the 1980s it pioneered zoning research in Italy linking soil, altitude and variety to wine character.
Wines
Illustrative selectionMüller Thurgau
