History
Cantina di Pitigliano was founded in 1954 by 11 growers to bottle the area's wine under one label; it now has over 600 members and about 800 hectares.
Its Bianco di Pitigliano, one of Italy's earliest DOCs (1966), and the Rosso Sovana are the flagships of the Maremma tufa country, at roughly 1.7 million bottles a year.
