History
Gulfi was founded in 1996 by Vito Catania, who returned to family land at Chiaramonte Gulfi in south-eastern Sicily; his son Matteo now leads it. The estate is known for terroir-driven, fresher Nero d'Avola, above all its four single-vineyard crus from the historic Pachino districts, written in Vito's distinctive dialect spelling.
