History
Duca di Salaparuta was founded in 1824 when Giuseppe Alliata, Duke of Salaparuta, began making wine at Casteldaccia, creating the Corvo brand that became Sicily's leading winery. In 1984, oenologist Franco Giacosa vinified a pure Nero d'Avola for the first time as Duca Enrico, a landmark of modern Sicilian wine; the house marked its 200th year in 2024.
