History
Cantina Murales grew out of the move of Piero Canopoli and his wife Giuliana Dalla Longa from Varese to Olbia. Canopoli, a sommelier and winemaker, and Dalla Longa, a professional sommelier and food-and-wine instructor, began in 2007 with an exploratory commercial project and turned it in 2010 into a producing, wine-tourism estate a few steps from the Costa Smeralda, in the heart of Gallura.
The family farms about twenty-five hectares in a natural way, with an eye to biodiversity, and makes some hundred thousand bottles a year. Alongside varietal Vermentino di Gallura – the flagship 'Lumenera' among them – Murales is the only winery in Sardinia to bottle Viognier on its own.
