History

Vigneti Massa single-handedly saved Timorasso. In the early 1980s, when growers across the Colli Tortonesi were tearing out the low-yielding native white in favour of Cortese for Gavi, Walter Massa kept it and championed it, proving it could make a profound, ageworthy wine. Bottled under the ancient name of Tortona, Derthona, his Timorasso sparked a revival that has made the grape one of Italy's most sought-after whites.
