Also known as Shiraz.

A black-skinned variety confirmed by DNA analysis (1999) to be the offspring of Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche from southeastern France. Produces medium- to full-bodied wines with medium-plus to high tannins in moderate climates, and fuller-bodied wines with softer tannin in hot climates; high acidity and tannin give it strong aging potential.
