Nero Buono

Nero Buono (Nero Buono di Cori) is a red wine grape native to the town of Cori in the Lepini hills of southern Lazio, where it has been grown for centuries and is essentially unknown elsewhere. Long used as a blending grape in the local reds, it has more recently been vinified as a varietal that anchors the Cori DOC.

It produces deeply colored, structured reds with ripe red- and black-fruit character and a firm but rounded tannic frame. Its very localized cultivation makes it one of Lazio's distinctive native reds, and the Cori DOC includes both a varietal Nero Buono and a Riserva.
