Art. 3: a metes-and-bounds zone around the lower Tirso valley and the Oristano plain, covering all or part of 17 comuni in the province of Oristano. Geometry = comune-union of the 17 containing comuni (openpolis WGS84, 63.511 ha), a documented over-approximation (several are only partially included).

- Vernaccia di OristanoMade exclusively from the distinct native Vernaccia di Oristano (unrelated to other Italian Vernaccias).
Art. 2: Vernaccia di Oristano is made exclusively from the Vernaccia di Oristano grape — a distinct Sardinian variety, unrelated to the Vernaccias of San Gimignano or the Marche. A flor-aged, oxidative, sherry-like white of the Tirso valley; Superiore and Riserva involve extended barrel ageing under flor.
Viticulture
Art. 4: alluvial Tirso-valley soils; the wine is aged oxidatively under a film of flor yeast. Yields per typology not transcribed as scalar.
