History

Villa Spinosa sits at the foot of the Masua hill dividing the Negrar and Marano valleys in Valpolicella Classica. The estate traces back to the 19th century — with buildings around an even older Borgo di Jago — and passed from the Jago to the Albasini and then the Spinosa family.

In the post-war years the estate turned to making its own wine, with Amarone at the core of its identity, and the modern Villa Spinosa took shape in the 1980s as Valpolicella recovered, under Enrico Cascella Spinosa.

Its vineyards include the Jago and Costa del Buso crus at Negrar and Figari at Marano, feeding Amarone, Valpolicella and Ripasso.
