History
Villa Canestrari's story begins in 1888, when Carlo Bonuzzi, an oenology graduate of the Conegliano wine school and owner of many Val d'Illasi vineyards, began bottling and selling the family's wine.
A century later a marriage united two long-standing wine families, Franchi and Bonuzzi, and in the 1990s the trademark 'Villa Canestrari' was created for the combined estate.
Now run by the fourth generation, Francesco Bonuzzi, with his mother Adriana Franchi, the estate makes Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone alongside Soave, and keeps a wine museum at Illasi.
