History
The estate was founded in 1860 by Daniele Delaini's great-grandfather and became one of Bardolino's larger producers; his grandfather built the Calmasino cellar in 1923.
After the grandfather's death in the early 1970s the family left winegrowing and the villa was abandoned.
Daniele, after banking and wine trade in Paris, inherited the estate from an aunt and revived it in 2011, naming it for her favourite plant, the calicantus, and returning to natural farming.
