History

Antonio Castagnedi, a grower in the Illasi valley of eastern Valpolicella, left his vineyards at Colognola ai Colli to his four sons — Armando, Tiziano, Paolo and Massimo. Long-time consultants for other estates, the brothers had bigger plans.

In 1989 they bought further top-quality vineyard land on the high Monti Garbi terrain and made the leap into their own production; the first Tenuta Sant'Antonio vintage came in 1995.

Their wines are entirely estate-grown, and their flagship Amarone — alongside Campo dei Gigli and Lilium Est — is dedicated to their father Antonio.
