History
In 1995 Carlo Venturini and Alessandra Zantedeschi took over abandoned terraced vineyards on the Castelrotto hill of San Pietro in Cariano, rebuilding the dry-stone marogne walls over two years using the existing stones and adding no external soil.
From the start they have worked biodynamically, encouraging biodiversity with herbs and winter cereals and following lunar cycles and manual practices.
The roughly ten-hectare estate makes Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone from native varieties, including the limestone-grown single-vineyard Camporenzo.
