History

The building housing the winery appears on a 1706 map of the Venetian State Archives; the estate was acquired by Carlo Roberto Meroni in 1935, since when it has vinified only its own grapes.

It sits in Sant'Ambrogio, one of the five communes of Valpolicella Classica, near the Grola cru long linked to Recioto and Amarone.

Two lines are made: 'Sengia' and the Amarone 'Il Velluto'.
