History

Marion was founded in 1986 by Stefano and Nicoletta Campedelli, in a 15th-century villa in Marcellise once owned by the Counts Marioni, from whom the winery takes its name.

The Campedellis first worked to improve vineyard health and lower yields, selling fruit to local co-ops until 1993, when Stefano met Celestino Gaspari — former cellar master to Giuseppe Quintarelli and adviser to Romano Dal Forno — and Marion the winery was born.

The 27-hectare estate, east of Verona and outside the Classica zone, makes structured Amarone and Valpolicella Superiore, with the oenologist Damiano Peroni since 2010.
