History
Le Salette takes its name from a sanctuary that local farmers built in 1860 as a votive offering to the Madonna after their vineyards were spared from phylloxera. The vineyards below it have long belonged to the Scamperle family.
The Scamperle family has grown grapes in the Fumane hills of Valpolicella Classica since the 19th century, gradually expanding their holdings over the generations.
Today the family works about 20 hectares across noted sites in Fumane, Sant'Ambrogio and San Floriano, using the classic zone varieties for its Amarone, Valpolicella and Recioto.
