History
Filippi's historic property in the Colli Scaligeri hills of Soave traces back centuries: the noble Conti Alberti moved to Castelcerino in the 1300s and later sold the estate to their Visco cousins, who began making wine there in the early 1900s.
Filippo Filippi, related to both families through his mother's Visco line, began bottling his own wine in 2003 and built a reputation for distinctive, age-worthy Soave. The estate was certified organic in 2007 and farms biodynamically with old vines and low yields.
Its three Soave DOC wines — Castelcerino, Vigne della Brà and Monteseroni — are all 100% Garganega, even though the appellation permits other varieties.
