History

Costozza is the estate of the Conti da Schio at Costozza di Longare, in the Colli Berici; the family gave impetus to local viticulture in the late 1800s and the winery was officially founded in 1910.

Heirs of the Trento family, the Da Schio imported Cabernet and Pinot Noir from France, and it was from Costozza that Cabernet Sauvignon spread across the Colli Berici, today the area's most widely planted variety.

Behind the villa and stables opens the 'covolo', a grotto carved into the rock and dated by a plaque above its entrance to 1303, still used to store the estate's wines.
